About the practice

Lakefront Medical Partners

Care that holds space for you

Our story

Some things take time to understand, and healing is one of them. At Lakefront Medical Partners, we have built a practice around the quiet conviction that good mental health care cannot be rushed — that listening well, thinking carefully, and staying present with each person matters more than any efficiency metric.

Lakefront Medical Partners was founded on the view that outpatient behavioral health works best when it feels less like a transaction and more like a sustained, trustworthy relationship. The clinicians who shaped this practice believed that adults in Illinois deserved an outpatient setting where the pace of care matched the complexity of human experience — not the other way around.

What we hold ourselves to

  • Presence over productivity. we measure the quality of an appointment by whether you felt genuinely heard, not by how quickly we moved through an agenda.
  • Honesty about complexity. mental health rarely resolves in a straight line, and we will tell you that plainly rather than offering reassurances that do not hold up.
  • Credentials that carry weight. every clinician on our team holds licensure or board certification appropriate to their discipline, and we take that standard seriously.
  • Privacy as a foundation. the candor that good care requires depends entirely on knowing that what you share here stays here, and we protect that trust carefully.
  • Therapy as a primary resource. we believe that skilled psychotherapy is among the most meaningful things we offer, and we have built our practice with that emphasis at the center.
  • Collaboration across disciplines. psychiatrists and therapists at this practice talk to each other, so that the care you receive reflects a shared understanding of where you are.
  • Continuity as a clinical value. a relationship with your clinician is not incidental to good care; in our view, it is part of what good care is.

How we work

Unhurried appointments

Every session is scheduled with enough time for a real conversation. We do not double-book, rush through assessments, or leave you feeling like a number at the end of the hour. The pace of your care is set by what you actually need.

Continuity with your clinician

You will work with the same clinician across visits, not a rotating cast of providers. That continuity allows your clinician to hold a fuller picture of your history, your patterns, and what tends to help.

Evidence-informed care

Treatment decisions are grounded in the clinical research, not in trends or preference alone. When we recommend a therapy approach or a medication, we can explain the reasoning behind it in plain language.

Psychiatry and therapy in conversation

When a patient is receiving both psychiatric and therapeutic care here, those clinicians communicate. That coordination means your medication considerations and your therapy goals inform each other, rather than existing in separate silos.

Our clinical team

The Lakefront Medical Partners clinical team is composed of board-certified psychiatrists and licensed psychotherapists whose credentials reflect rigorous training in outpatient adult mental health. We hold high standards for clinical preparation, and we hold equally high standards for the kind of care that does not show up on a resume — patience, attentiveness, and the ability to sit with someone in difficulty without rushing toward a solution.

When you're ready, we are too.
